Youth Temple Baptisms

This morning I reflected on our experience last night serving our temple shift. We were assigned in the baptistry and welcomed five people—three are in the Palmyra Ward—a father and two of his children.

I thought a lot about the changes over that last few years making it possible for youth to attend the temple more often. Before they could only go when the ward scheduled youth trips, and the ward could only schedule two trips per year. Now, the limits have been removed for ward trips and families can schedule sessions as often as they wish. The proliferation of temples has also given more access to the youth all over the world.

This is so important in helping today’s youth connect with the Savior, helping them stay strong as the moral fabric of society continues to decline.

Here’s what Elder Teixiera said in October general conference:

“Our youth have shown remarkable courage and devotion. They have enthusiastically embraced the work of family history, and their frequent visits to the house of the Lord are a testament to their dedication. Their willingness to devote time and energy to serve missions across the globe reflects a deep and abiding faith. They are not merely participating but leading the way in becoming disciples bonded to Jesus Christ. Their service radiates light and hope, touching countless lives.”
